About Aragon

Aragon is a picturesque region, located in northeastern Spain. Comprising of three provinces: Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel, it is flanked by Catalonia on the east, Valencia and Castile - La Mancha to the south, and Castle and Leon, La Rioja and Navarre to the west. Popularly referred to as the land of extreme contrasts, Aragon is blessed with a diverse range of landscapes, from snow-draped peaks of the Pyrenees to the dry plains and lonely hilly areas of the south. Each and every city and town in the region has its own distinct charm and offer an array of activities to holidayers of all ages. A good number of Aragon holiday homes and homes dot the region, which provide a comfortable stay at affordable prices.

Aragon is crisscrossed by many rivers, amongst which is the River Ebro - Spain's largest river in volume. Some of the most densely populated areas of the region are mostly located around its lush green valley, particularly around Zaragoza and the Pyrenean foothills. In comparison to other regions in the country, Aragon is less populous and therefore it remains unspoiled and untouched. Choose to stay at one of the holiday homes in Aragon Spain, which provide you with an easy access to Ordesa National Park that boasts of some of the most remarkable scenery in Europe with its deep canyons, frozen lakes, numerous gurgling waterfalls, and an incredible variety of wildlife with many species which are endemic to the Pyrenees. During summers, you can even spot many colorful mountain butterflies and flowers carpeting the lush green valley of the park while during winters, it is heaven for skiing enthusiasts.

Make sure to travel to the valley of Hecho, Canfranc, and Tena which hides some of the most pretty villages of Aragon that are renowned for their Romanesque churches and typical Pyrenean houses with lots of flowers on the big balconies. For history buffs, the medieval town of Jaca is a must visit for its oldest Romanesque cathedral besides Teruel and Zaragoza, which are designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. You can reserve an Aragon cottage rental, located in close vicinity to these places of interests. Some of the other notable towns in the region include Navasa, Daroca, Sos del Rey Catolico, Caspe, San Martin de Solana, and Gudar.
