Awang Awang means “floating in the space between heaven and earth” the perfect description for our villa, perched on edge of ravine with breathtaking views of sacred Petanu river and lush tropical forests. Like many others, we fell in love with the ‘Island of the Gods’ and her people and feel very privileged to have been able to lease from local owners, land on which to build this peaceful haven.The House is designed by Balinese architect Ir. Ida Bagus Wiadnyana according to ancient traditions with correct alignments toward Holy Mountain. Traditional materials are used throughout to harmonize with environment alang alang thatched roofing, hand-made terracotta floor-tiles, stone and marble all crafted by local artists.Awang Awang Villa The house is cooled by fans and natural cross breezes over water gardens. Entry is via traditional Balinese gate-way protected by stone guardians and along garden path through tranquil lotus and water-lily filled fish ponds. Antique Javanese doors open onto main living area with its soaring alang alang roof and spectacular views from the open terrace.Antique Javanese doors open from living area to 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom contains queen-sized bed made from old teak wood and an antique Javanese batik table. A dressing room leads to marble bathroom and outdoor garden shower. The second bedroom has an antique Javanese queensized bed while 3rrdcontains 2 single beds. A large terrazzo and marble bathroom with deep tub outdoor shower and double vanity is shared between 2 rooms.Stairs lead down to open dining-area with views across lush valley. The dining table is constructed from sections of an antique Javanese house and comfortably seats up to 10. The kitchen has granite bench-tops and is well equipped with refrigerator oven gas cook-top & modern appliances & utensils.Antique Javanese doors lead to 4th bedroom which contains queen-sized bed and marble terrazzo en-suite. Sliding glass doors open onto terrace. Steps lead down to sun-deck and infinity edge swimming pool with its stunning backdrop of tropical forest. A fifth bedroom with en-suite and outdoor bathroom is also situated on this level.The house contains many unique pieces of antique furniture from Java and Lombok and is decorated with traditional weavings, carvings, statues and antique shadow puppets. There is TV, CD player, VCR, DVD and small collection of CD’S and books.Villa Beji Beji in Balinese means “a place of holy spring water“. Our staff chose name because of holy springs located below villa by sacred Petanu River. Water is gathered here for many traditional ceremonies. The villa was designed by Ida Bagus Wiadnyana. As with Villa Awang Awang it was planned with correct alignments to Holy Mountain and blessing ceremonies have been held throughout building stages in accordance with local traditions.The upper level consists of 2 bedrooms, each with an en-suite with marble tiled floors, terrazzo bath tub and natural stone open shower area. Queen-sized beds have been made from beautiful Bayur wood by local craftsman. A large outdoor terrace furnished with black bamboo lounge chairs is ideal place to relax and enjoy the lush valley views.The lower level contains kitchen, living room, area for outdoor dining overlooking jungle and river, and patio to infinity edge pool, gazebo and sunbathing area. To protect special environment bio septic system is used which treats waste through an aerobic system and is then recycled to garden. The pool uses an ionization sterilization method.The villa is 50 min drive from airport and is situated in cool highlands 5km from Ubud – famous for its fine art galleries, restaurants and rich cultural life. The 10 min drive is through stunning scenery of lush rice-fields, mountains and sacred volcano Gunung Agung towering in distance. World-famous music and dance performances, jazz cafes and fine restaurants are just 10 min away at villa.

The cabin has everything you need, for a cozy winter evening enjoying a home made dinner in the fully equipped kitchen/diner. or sitting in front of the large TV watching a movie or a summer evening BBQ out in spacious garden area. Just a couple of minutes walk away from the bars and restaurants or a shuttle bus stopto the slopes. Kenman house is in a super location with lovely views. Accommodation: The cabin has its main bedroom upstairs with a lovely king size bed that can be split to make two singles if needed elegant bedding and accessories make you feel pampered as soon as you enter the room great winter snowscape views or the lush green summer forest add the finishing touches! Just off the bedroom at the top of the stairs you’ll find a toilet and separate shower room. The second upstairs bedroom just across the landing has two single beds perfect for the kids, but amply big enough for two adults. All the bedrooms have bedside tables with reading lights, and separate drawer chests so you can unpack and make yourself comfortable. All the rooms have underfloor central heating just to make sure your feet stay toasty In the summer its always cool enough to open the windows and let the chirping sounds of the forest put you to sleep. Downstairs there is a spacious entrance hall waiting to greet you upon arrival with ski/board and boot storage off to the side. A second door opens into a warm inviting newly furnished open plan living/dining/kitchen area with a dining table for 6, and a 37”TV...and sofa space for all to relax. At the end of the hall you’ll find the spacious downstairs bedroom with two singles that can be set together to make a second king bed.Downstairs you will also find the main bathroom, washroom/laundry, and a second toilet and the beautifully fitted kitchen/dining area with everything you’ll need. At the back of the cabin steps lead down to a spacious outdoor dining area, fantastic for breakfast’s or BBQ’s in the summer. Kenman House has a 37 inch LCD TV, region free DVD player, and fiber optic broadband internet & cable TV for the nights in when you want to watch a movie or TV show and music. Additionally, the entire cabin has broadband WiFi perfect for your own laptop or IPhone. Shuttle busses pass on the main Echoland street, just two minutes walk away, during ski season, with shuttle bus stops for all the major ski resorts: Happo-one, Iwatake, Hakuba47 and Goryu.
