A Methodist Church,several businesses and an apartment complex still bear the name.We chose 'Greenwood' for our home because of the history associated, as well as the fact that this part of our city has many beautiful trees lining the streets..Our town is alive with history,arts,festivals and beautiful scenery,thanks to the Youghiogheny River and our close proximity to the mountains.If you ride the trail from Cumberland MD. you will see how the scenery opens to the flats where it then proceeds to Pittsburgh.We are level enough for businesses but mountainous on all sides;very beautiful in early October when the fall leaves changes to fiery red,bright gold,yellow and amber.I've included a list of local events that highlight the season changes on a later page.Bicycles are everywhere in Connellsville and we are no except! My husband created the 'highwheel' bike in our front garden;it is stationary but great for pictures! History of the Greenwood House Built in 1905 by J.Harold Sweeny,this lovely American 4-Square design house was a cozy shelter for two families and a total of twelve children.The original owners,Edward and Margaret Sweeney were part of Connellsville society and hosted gatherings in the spacious foyer,living room and dining room.Mrs Sweeny was an avid decorator and we have tried to return to the original appearance of the home,using period-type wallpaper, colors and furnishings.The woodwork has been preserved and remains beautiful with an ornate fireplace in the living room,lovely cornices and moulding throughout.The name Greenwood originated from it's location.At one time,this section of town was owned by Miles Greenwood, a friend of coal and coke baron, James Cochran.We have several letters addressed to Mr and Mrs.Sweeney of 'Greenwood,Pa'.

The complex has a heated pool and Jacuzzi.This apartment is located in Summerlin, in the north-western part of Las Vegas. Only 15 minutes away from the world famous Las Vegas Strip. This is a beautiful, very private home copied from a Frank Lloyd Wright design and modified to provide convenience and openness. A terra cotta cinderblock garden wall, matching the house walls, provides privacy on the mountain side, forming a large courtyard and bringing out the beauty of our bougainvillea and other tropical flowers and gardens. The other side of the house and gardens are fenced for pets, including large or small dogs. Relax on our covered lanai with a drink and your loved ones and watch the Kona sunsets over the ocean. Next to the covered lanai is a large deck with a large, rectangular pool and separate hot tub.We live in an eclectic neighborhood, mostly smaller houses neatly landscaped, one unsightly house, and one millionaire house . From our house you can't see any neighbors because of the privacy walls and landscaping, but if you walk out on the pool deck you can see the millionaire's house.Our pool is 17' by 34' and just under 5 feet deep with handicapped steps at one end leading to the hot tub and bedrooms. It's solar heated, but on cloudy days can be cool. Pool temperatures range from 74 on a cold day to 86 on a really hot, sunny day, especially in August and September. I swim every morning even in winter when it goes down to 72.Enjoy the fishing boat activities on the sea below. Look up the coast at the beautiful Kealakekua Bay. Watch the saffron finches and tropical Java sparrows at the bird feeders and listen to the sounds of the Hawaiian doves. Enjoy our 3 bedrooms, carpeted, with 2 king size beds and one double bed, each equipped with dressers and closets. Each bedroom has sliding glass doors that open onto pool deck. The master bedroom has 2 closets and a regular door to hallway, while the other two bedrooms have sliding Japanese soji doors. Wood finishing and kitchen counters and cabinets are beautiful, old growth fir from Vancouver Island, British Columbia.Our large main bathroom has a shower big enough to share or to contain a wheelchair, aqua tile floor, and long counter. The large living room has sliding glass doors on both sides to allow the breezes through. The house retains a perfect temperature all day, no fans or air conditioning needed, but on an exceptionally hot day there are ceiling fans in every room. During the cooler evenings we sometimes close the sliding doors on the mountain side. From the bedrooms or the living room you can listen to the garden fountain and watch the birds take baths. There are 55 Macademia nut trees on the 3 acres which is a small, older lava flow. We also have mango trees and citrus. A nut cracker is provided on one of the lanai tables. The large table seats six and we eat dinner out there while watching the sunsets. Our pool is long enough for lap swimming, but wide enough for kids to play in. It is heated with a solar heating system. You can walk out of the house and jump right into the pool. Bathing suits are optional because there is a privacy wall from the neighbors who are far enough away that they couldn't see what you have on anyway.

Our home sits on 2.5 acres of 10 acres of family land that has been in our family for generations. I have two bedrooms, one with custom queen size bunk beds and the master with a queen size bed, walk in closet and a walk in rock shower with a Jacuzzi tub and custom tile art work through out the house. Master bath has a koi pond and a taro patch and the kitchen has pineapples and taro leaves that role down the laundry stairs, front entrance sits a turtle (Hono) to welcome you. I have a big family entertainment room with theater chairs and big screen tv with a sound system that has speakers through out the house and deck, bedrooms all have flat screen tv's. I also have a massage chair that truly makes you feel completely relaxed. It is very quiet and peaceful since we have no neighbors and lots of land with fruit trees (oranges,lemons,limes,tangos,tangerines, mango's, avocados and lots of bananas). Our custom home was built in 2005 by my husband and I built with total love. Our kitchen has top of the line appliances and all stainless steal with all granite counter tops through out the house. We take pride in our home, our yard, our marriage and our life.

This lovely private get-away is conveniently located to everything Portland has to offer. I will be happy to recommend reestaurants and other venues. The deck is gorgeous with heaters, up- lighting, chandeliers and a wonderful atmosphere. It can be used except during stormy weather when you would want to be downstairs snuggled up to the fireplace anyway! Located within walking distance to downtown Portland and convenient to the Pearl district, this romantic private suite is appointed with all of the luxuries found in a fine hotel. There is also a communal deck with mountain and river views available for your use when the weather permits.I do not ask for full payments at time of booking. I like to get a check sent to me for $100 US dollars at the time of booking and it is not refundable if they cancel or do not show up. I collect the balance when they come and apply the $100 to their charge. They can send the check payable to Vicki de Ville with their name and the date of their stay on it. Pets are on a case by case situation. They need to talk to me about it.
