Companies of the 7th under Custer's command fought Sioux and Cheyenne warriors in August of '73 on the north side of the Yellowstone River just west of modern Miles City.Sitting Bull Room: Decorated in the spirit of the Plains Indian culture, this room features art and artifacts that celebrate the life and times of famed Hunkpapa medicine man Sitting Bull—who frequented the Miles City area and the Yellowstone River plain.
