About Xaghra

Xaghra is a lovely village on the island of Gozo in Malta. Built on a hill to the central north east of the island of Gozo, it lies just under 4 kilometers from Rabat, the town of the island, and is perfectly described as the village of the goddess and the Madonna. Xaghra is home to the Ggantija megaliths, the Xaghra Stone Circle, as well as underground features Xerri's Grotto and Ninu's Cave. With its rich historic heritage and outstanding natural beauty, the village has carved out a special niche for itself on the tourism map. Xaghra is the second largest village after Nadur in Gozo. Located in the heart of the village is Xaghra Parish, dedicated to Our Lady of Victories, which is locally referred to as 'il Bambina'.
